We have finally needed to light our Estufa in the kitchen for warmth and comfort (it has rained a lot here recently and we have a leaky roof!!!) It is great fun coming home to light a fire in the evenings and it really does warm up the house. The one pictured below is the one in the house we are living in - but today we have finally collected a new (larger) one for the new casa so we know we are onto the final stages....
We are firing on all cylinders at the new casa too - the constructionnes have finally completed their work and left the house to the more claming influences of Nigel and myself who are madly painting away to get the finish we want. We have worked pretty hard over the past week and have hit the milestone of getting the upstairs living area finished and we are really pleased with the results...
Here are some general views of the upstairs living area...
Here are a couple of views of the staircase

This week we are progressing to completion of the downstairs - we are then onto finishing jobs such as varnishing doors, installing the estufa and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning....
Amongst all that I've managed to take my new wheelie trolly out for it's first outing ... now you may laugh I know, in England they tend to be used by the older citizen for their weekly shop - however, here in spain they enable people (i.e. me!) to shop at the market (wherever in the town they live or park!!) I did the whole shop in one go (all in spanish which I was very proud of) - and just wheeled it back to the car ... much to the amusement of my husband!!!
We have been watching more DVDs since the temporary satellite dish solution here was dismantled so that we could use the ladders on which the dish was propped for painting! We can recommend 'The Day after Tomorrow' - a bit of an old one I know but much better than we anticipated. We also saw and enjoyed Madagascar and Wallace and Grommit with the 'were-rabbit' - both pretty funny....last night was X-Men III - not quite as action packed as previous ones but very good all the same and I have the same comment about Mission Impossible 3 - not quite as much action but a good romp all the same and worth watching.
Anyway - am off up to the casa for more painting later so will keep you posted,
hugs,
Sarah
